I paint mainly landscapes in a loose impressionistic style, capturing the fundamental drama or beauty of a scene through juxtaposition of shape and colour, enhanced by the texture and freedom of painting with a palette knife. My paintings are in oils and are inspired by my native Yorkshire, by my travels and my wildlife photography.

More recently, I have started using acrylics to depict the colour and excitement of sporting scenes. Inspired initially by the Tour de France in Yorkshire, I have concentrated mainly on cycling but also include horse racing, rugby, golf and even bowls.
